Paper Lunch Bag
The commonly seen brown paper lunch bag that everyone has been using the past 50 years has
undergone a lot of changes. The paper lunch bag was the next step from the ordinary brown paper bag that
everyone used to carry groceries home.
The bag began to shrink when people started to bring it to work at the start of the day with
them containing their lunch and some. Soon after, scientists found the brown paper lunch bag to be not food
friendly because o fits composition. From there, new materials were introduced and the plain paper lunch bag
was now called something like a lunch box or thermos bag combination.
This fad continued for a while but it didn’t stop there. Eventually people started becoming
fussy and they wanted a simple bag that could keep foods cold or hot. Manufacturer started to start adding
insulating maters into the bag mix. Some of these bags could even be thrown in the freezer and frozen
overnight so that the content would remain really cold throughout the day.
If scientists made the bag useful, fashion designers dug their fingers into the mix and began
experimenting with its looks. They redesigned the bag in a way that it was now fashionable to carry around.
Some of them were even consigned to high end fashion stores and marketed with their brand name. Of course,
this meant that the price was outrageous but teens and rich wannabes licked it up all the way. Everyone now wanted the bag that as eco-friendly and new.
Fashion media hounds took It to the next step. They then got celebrity endorsers to promote
their own brown paper lunch bags. Hard to believe that millionaires would fork over money for a simple paper
bag that has been in existence for so long. Sometimes as the economy grows or slumps, everyone tries to make
a buck or keep afloat so its not really right to blame the evolution of the brown paper bag.
However with the economy fluctuating, so too must our wallets and spending money. Rather than
spend money on these great designer bags, perhaps you could just
start spending money more wisely on food for everyday consumption. Imagine the savings of having a super cool
bag when you could use that money to buy great east instead. It’s a sure bet that any hungry man would rather
would down a cheeseburger than snack on a brown paper designer
lunch bag.
If you look past all the hype and media packaging, the plain old brown paper bag has served many generations for so
long and has really shown its versatility being as simple as it is. So the next time you bring a meal to work, just
pack it in a plain old brown paper lunch bag. Its simple, easy to use
and disposable. Being made from paper, it won’t harm the planet like those Styrofoam packed lunches or those messy
plastic bags. Here’s to a great lunch ahead!
